RENTAL TIPS
June 1 and September 1 are the biggest Rental turn over dates in JP. Our rental listings come in one or two months before available
date. The early September listings (in Feb or March)are often owned by landlords who rent in Allston/Brighton or Mission Hill where notice is given really early! Most JP September 1st listings will come in early to late July. Many of our JP landlords are switching to the JUNE1 cycle, vs. the classic and infamous Boston September 1st cycle because it benefits both landlords and tenants. There is a big selection of beautiful apartments (all sizes!) that are rented by medical professionals which creates an annual June turn around. For tenants hoping to buy, the JUNE1st lease cycle allows them to shop the busy spring Real Estate market, and moving is a lot easier because trucks and movers are available and plentiful for JUNE1st.( not so for September as most Bostonian's know!)
